Jaxer: Ajax Server A?!

jaxer section Jaxer : Un serveur Ajax ?!

Aptana , famous for its IDE dedicated to tech web (Air, , , PHP, ...), has just developed a Ajax. A what? Yes, you heard right, an Ajax server. Its name: Aptana Jaxer .

Assuming that more and more applications use these days, Ajax. Jaxer application will develop fully "Ajaxifiées". The DOM and JavaScript technologies can be used on the server side, client side or both simultaneously. The code can be shared between the server and client. Validation via Javascript data can then be done server side.

page flow diagram Jaxer : Un serveur Ajax ?!

From a technical point of view, the Jaxer server is installed next to a server classic. Part of the Javascript code specific to the server is running on the server side via Jaxer then the page is sent to the browser (client) who, in turn, executes the JavaScript specific part. The information is synchronized via a callback when a script is shared between the client and server.

The other advantage of the servers-side Ajax is the ability to directly access objects, files or database.

According Aptana:

Applications and sites now Can Be Purely built on Ajax technology end to end, or Jaxer Can Be Used For just the presentation layer (Both client and server) on top of a business logic layer in, say, Java or PHP.

The ideal would be for Aptana javascript, Ajax and more particularly, to be used on both the client and server side applications for fully developed in Ajax.

The question is whether, in future, access to Java objects via JavaScript based on the tech is viable, secure and useful ...

If some of you have tested the beast, do not hesitate to leave me a comment to give me your impressions hot.

Wow!

The idea is very pleasant! But some questions still deserve eclaircicements (as you pointed out)

-Is it safe?
The CPU-consolidated by this kind of services? (Already a client side it uses a lot)
And a point of view of search engine? A site full casi javascript may penalize a lot!

But I also j'demande to see how it goes into production!

Indeed, this level of security scares.
I have not seen exactly how it happened at the server or what would be the exact charge ... ..
By cons, it is not necessary to do the site in javascript but only part of the treatment can be distributed client and server.

But it is still a wonderful project that deserves to be careful.

Ajax server is a trade name like Ajax is too often attached to the word Web 2.0, but the other one is not defined.

After Jaxer is built with Java technologies, so with no more security and performance that it offers. It is obviously not possible to inject JS code on the server side unless you explicitly want (the famous XSS) in my opinion (but that remains only my opinion).

and pretty. innerHTML server side we see on the site of Jaxer gives me goose bumps ;-)

PS: very cool, publishing a posteriori ;-)
